"Following our recent training and visit to the Mosque, I would just like to thank you ... for a very informative, enjoyable experience. Here are some quotes, feedback from some of the team who attended:

'Fabulous and very informative'
'Really interesting learning about culture'
'The visit to the Mosque was great'
Best onion bhaji and samosa'
'Interesting, informative, enjoyable and myth busting'.

"We felt we learnt so much, especially as you had ensured a safe learning environment, where we could ask questions without feeling silly or ignorant. The information both electronically and on paper is great, a tool we can refer to if needed. We were engrossed and the time flew so quickly.

"I would recommend this awareness raising training without hesitation. Once again many thanks."

"I have had the privilege of using thinkBRITE Services on a number of occasions with different groups of students training to be RE teachers. Waqaus has always provided a well organised, informative and effective experience. The trainees have always found the Islamic Awareness session to be of the highest value and have come away feeling well prepared to teach Islam in schools and with ideas of how to use a visit to a Mosque or a visit from a Muslim to make compelling learning experiences for their pupils."

"On Wednesday 16th November St Bernadette's welcomed Saleha Lokhat (of thinkBRITE Services) to talk to our school assembly about Islamic Faith and Traditions. She talked about her practice as a Muslim believer and drew comparisons to practice within our Catholic Faith and tradition. The children had lots of intelligent questions to ask and in her answers Saleha sought to clarify understanding of other Faiths. Children and staff enjoyed watching some You-Tube clips and taking on roles to illustrate Muslim practice.

It was very informative and … the children were able to use what they had learnt from the presentation in class during lessons about Islam. We would like to ask you back sometime in the future to maybe do smaller workshops/lessons to individual classes to gain more insight.

An excellent experience - everyone appreciated and enjoyed the visit. Thank you!"

"The evening discussion series at Ashton Methodist Church was entitled 'A brief history of Islam in Britain' presented by Riyaz Timol of thinkBRITE (British Islamic Training and Education). Riyaz had come well prepared and spoke eloquently and passionately … with an extended period of questions (and) discussion in groups.

What I think was particularly striking for those present were the many similarities between Islam and Christianity. Riyaz stressed the fact of Abraham as a common ancestor, and the fact that the old and new testaments are accepted by Muslims as authentic scripture.

I hope that we can invite Riyaz back in the future to explore further our faiths and beliefs, and some of the challenges we face as people of faith in a secular society."

"Imam Fazal Hassan's presentation on Islamic Medical Ethics has been very well received by the BCoM Health Forum's GPs, hospital doctors and local medical students.

The regular presentations have been of the highest quality, succinct and to the point, and a true example of a broad depth of understanding and knowledge of such a specialized field. Maulana and his team at thinkBRITE have delivered a service which has proven to be second to none in terms of content, relevance, quality and overall professionalism.

We at the BCoM Health Forum have a great deal to be thankful for and are continuing to have different topics and subjects delivered by Imam Fazal Hassan, allowing and supporting us to increase our audience."

As part of UCLan's Discover Islam Week, Riyaz Timol of thinkBRITE Services was invited to deliver a presentation on 'Does God Exist?' to a multi-faith audience. Upon attending the talk I was intrigued by the depth of the research and facts presented by Riyaz. The audience was impressed by the explanations and felt involved by the humour that was 'student specific'.

Riyaz drew on a number of sources during his presentation and the depth of scientific information presented left many of us science students astounded. It was interesting, well-balanced and supported with examples that were well thought out. Both sides of the argument were covered and it was interesting to consider the topic from different perspectives.

On behalf of the ISOC, we would like to thank thinkBRITE Services and especially Riyaz for his entertaining talk that left most of us inspired. The work they carry out and the difference they are trying to make is highly appreciated and we look forward to the next time you visit.

“I write in testimony for Maulana Fazal Hassan of thinkBRITE Services, who delivered a lecture on ‘Islam, Marriage and Family’ as part of our Religious Education programme for Year 13 students.

I was very impressed by his professionalism as he was clearly well prepared with relevant Powerpoint presentations, confident in his delivery and knowledgeable about the topic. He made excellent use of the available time, including a challenging question and answer session at the end which he dealt with in a very calm and skilful manner.

I found Maulana Hassan most friendly and personable, and I would be more than happy to use him again and to recommend him to other colleges and professional groups.”

‘Fazal Hassan worked with me to deliver a seminar at the Northern Baptist Learning Community. There were about thirty students present, as part of their training to be ordained as Christian ministers. Fazal was an excellent partner, graciously communicating with humour, humility and care about his experience and understanding as a Muslim. He also dealt effectively with one or two difficult questions, sensitively making his position clear. Many in the group very much appreciated their opportunity to listen to and talk with an Imam. Working with Fazal was a rich and positive experience and I hope to do so again in future”.

“My name is Sarah Yates and I am Key Stage 2 Leader and RE Co-ordinator at Howick C.E. Primary School. I have recently worked with Waqaus Ali (of thinkBRITE Services) during our school Faith Week in March.

Waqaus began our week with an assembly for the children about the 5 Pillars of Islam. The children really enjoyed the assembly … He engaged older children by using a PowerPoint presentation – putting pictures to the new vocabulary the children were learning. Waqaus also set the children a challenge, to recall the 5 pillars which they did with enthusiasm.

Overall, Waqaus was the most remembered visitor from faith week, with all children still talking about him now, recalling the 5 pillars easily.”
